After 60 years, Tsuburaya Productions continues to release new works, carrying this immortal legend forward to the present day.
As part of the Ultraman 60th anniversary initiative, this film is a documentary that deeply asks the question: “What, exactly, is Ultraman?” Bringing together directors and creators active in top-tier fields at home and abroad—such as film, tokusatsu, games, and design—the documentary explores Ultraman from multiple, deeply personal perspectives. It not only delves into the inner world of the hero at its centre, but also vividly and carefully depicts the distinctive universe built behind the monsters, highlighting the visual appeal of both Ultraman and the monsters themselves. At the same time, it will focus on the ideas and creative journey of Eiji Tsuburaya and the production team of that era, tracing step by step Ultraman’s globally leading path.
